I wouldn't. It's a dirty movie without being explici. I'm trying to erase it from my conscience ever since I saw it, and I'm failing at it. It's ingrained piece of shit stuck in there, and it's bringing me down as soon as I think of it.

Not sure if i would actually recommend watching their movies as a whole, but Harmony Korine and Larry Clark are also photographers.
They're fucking weirdos tho, like actual freaks.

That was a nice watch, thank you anon!
I also didn't expect Haruhiko Shono to pop up, that was pleasant surprise.

But it is, the scenes after he's left alone are excellent, they are framed to show more jungle and thus emphasize his loneliness.

Man the directors are utterly pathetic pieces of shit, you all hear them talk of literature, painting and poetry but NEVER fucking ever you will hear them mentioning photography or photographers, which is the closet art medium to film and it is at the very roots of film.

A film director is pretty much useless tbh. For example in Tarkovsky’s case, his best films are adaptations of books. And he wrote scripts with other screenwriters. Then you have the actors, which do at least half of the job and are also authors in their own right (on Stalker, the acting is flawless and Kaidanovsky is able to convey such depth of emotion that he probably carried that film on his shoulders). The music, one of the most remarkable aspects of his films, is also written by someone else. There are people responsible for the cinematography, photography, sound design, edition. Fucking Tarkovsky just came up with general instructions most of which he could never execute. If he’d worked with different people the result would’ve been drastically different. A director is hardly an author yet the film is attributed to him. I’m not saying collaboration is bad but the cult of the film director seems ridiculous. Fuck these hacks.

These pathetic scum plagiarise photographers without any push back whatsoever. For example pic related is by Harry Callahan

This is from a Bela Tarr movie, huh

They homosexuals don't even admit that they were "influenced" by photographers.

Fuck man I really hate the scum known as directors.

          Hell no
The horizon line, the subframe made by tress, the character placement and the actual tress. It's all too similar, there is little more foreground in Bela.

The """inspiration""" is clearly there. But you hear no mentions of it.
